Collegiate Celebrates Mardi Gras

As we continue to recognize the vivacity of cultures around the world, Collegiate students learned about the history of Mardi Gras and how it is celebrated globally. Students learned about Bonhomme Carnaval (the official mascot of the Quebec Winter Carnival), read about Beauregard and his friends in New Orleans, completed an integrated performance assessment about Mardi Gras facts, decorated the school with Mardi Gras decor, enjoyed Mardi Gras inspired food and participated in a Mardi Gras parade through the Lower School. On behalf of the World Language Department, Ms. Hoban and Mr. Rucker would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this year’s Mardi Gras celebration successful.
