Head of School Welcome

Dear Prospective Families,

I am honored to begin my fifth year as Collegiate’s 15th Head of School. As an independent co-educational school, Collegiate offers a diverse student body that allows students to collaborate in the classroom and prepare for real-world experiences upon graduation.

Founded in 1915, our nurturing learning environment upholds high academic standards while implementing innovative ideas in a supportive, student-centered community. We develop lifelong learners who are informed, engaged, and ethical citizens and leaders in our diverse world. At Collegiate, we focus on social-emotional learning, building a culture and climate emphasizing comprehensive wellness, and providing an inclusive community. We are intentional about being a welcoming and connected community.

We are proud of our history and reputation as a small school where students are known and loved. We remain committed to providing all our students with the best possible educational experience. One of the hallmarks of a Collegiate education is that teachers know your children and work with them to be successful in the classroom. Building and maintaining these transformative student-teacher relationships is vital in making Collegiate a healthy place for students to learn and grow.

Collegiate’s campus is in the heart of Louisville’s historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood. Our campus includes a performing and visual arts center, a state-of-the-art library, a maker education center, and athletic facilities for students to explore their academic, artistic, and athletic interests.

I invite you to visit Collegiate and experience firsthand the faculty, students, and curriculum that make this school such an extraordinary place. I appreciate your interest in Collegiate.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Macrae
