Collegiate Announces Head of School Search Firm

Dear Louisville Collegiate Community,

We are happy to report to you today on the ongoing progress of the Head of School Search and to give you a preview of what to expect this month.

During the past few weeks, the Head of School Search Committee reviewed the credentials of some of the nation’s top educational search firms and invited representatives of these firms to meet with us here in Louisville. All of the firms brought significant experience and expertise to the table, as well as insights into the current environment in the Head of School search landscape.

After careful and thoughtful review of their credentials and presentations, the Committee is pleased to announce that it has selected Diversified Search to lead us in identifying our next Head of School. Diversified is one of the largest executive search firms in the U.S. and the largest women-owned firm in the industry. The organization has more than 40 years of experience placing professionals including those in the education and non-profit sectors. The company maintains core values of trust, integrity, goodwill and respet, and a commitment to diversity. More than 60 percent of educators placed by Diversified are women and minority professionals.

Peter J. Gillin, a managing director in the firm’s Education, Nonprofit, and Arts and Culture Practice, will lead the search team in this process. Pete has extensive experience in the K-12 independent school search arena. Before joining Diversified, he led Head of School and division searches for Wickenden Associates, another respected search firm in the industry. Pete will be joined by Kim Morrison, Ph.D., a managing director at Diversified. We are looking forward to working with Pete and Kim in our search.

One of their important roles will be to hear from faculty, parents, alumni, students and others within the Louisville Collegiate Community to gather feedback about the qualities that should be exemplified by our next Head of School. Pete and Kim will be on campus February 26 and 27 to meet with the Search Committee and to conduct a series of interviews with representatives of each of the school’s constituencies. The information they collect will be used in the development of a position description that will inform potential candidates about this exciting career opportunity. Information about how you can participate in this process will be forthcoming.

The Search Committee is committed to conducting an inclusive and transparent search for the next leader of Collegiate. We are excited about this giant step forward in the process and look forward to the many opportunities to engage with you all in this important transition.
