Collegiate said a heartfelt thank you to three stalwart faculty members at the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Each is featured in the next Bulletin, which will be published in July. Excerpts from those pieces, in the order that the faculty members are pictured, are included here.
“In the fifteen years Kathryn Smith has been a part of our community, roughly one thousand young artists have been guided by her organized, thoughtful, prepared, musical, inventive, playful and magical teaching. We wish her well in the next part of her journey.”
“If anyone truly knows Collegiate’s Lower School, it’s Katherine “Kitty” Parsons Davis ’70. She understands the way Collegiate students learn – not only because she was a student here for 13 years, but also because she has been teaching our second and third grade students for the past 37 years.
“Always willing to step up and help, Susan Maxwell was the Physical Education Department Chair for 25 years, a member of the Academic Affairs Committee, chaired two ISACS self-studies, coached softball and was on too many committees to count. Susan was also a recipient of the prestigious Katherine McCracken Davis Distinguished Teaching Chair award.”
Two Spalding University Standouts! Jenny Garcia received her Masters in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services K-12 while serving as the long-term sub for Kate Edelen, Middle School Counselor. Tiffany L. Bridgewater earned her Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) while running Collegiate’s Lower School. Congratulations to both of these life-long learners and gifted multitaskers!
