Globally Focused Clubs, Activities and Academic Teams

Kentucky United Nations Assembly
The Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) is a 3-day experiential learning conference in which students participate directly in simulated international diplomacy. KUNA offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of cultures from around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues.

Kentucky Youth Assembly
The Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) is a 3-day expanded educational opportunity in which students serve as part of a model state government. KYA offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth.

Academic World Quest
The World Affairs Councils of America’s flagship youth education program is a fun, fast-paced team competition for high school students. Academic WorldQuest tests players’ knowledge of current international politics, geography, global economics, history, and world culture

French Club
Upper School French Club and Honor Society members are partnered with FEED (Fondation Pour l’Épanouissement Démunis de Paulette)  – Foundation for the Development of Underprivileged Children in Paulette, Haiti. The organization’s premier goal is to improve the quality of water, education, nutrition, and medical care in Paulette, Haiti. Students raise funds annually through snack sales to support tuition and funding of a water system for St. Joseph’s School and Clinic in Haiti. In 2012, Louisville Collegiate School was recognized in the American Association of Teachers of French national bulletin. To date, we have contributed over $3,000 to the cause.

Spanish Club
The goal of the Spanish club is to promote respect and love for the Hispanic culture. The club partners with La Casita to help with community events and translations. The club also partners with Newcomer Academy to foster friendship and understanding among students and teachers. The club also helps organize International week activities and events.

Chinese Club

Xenophiles Club
The Xenophiles club promotes cultural acceptance in the Upper School. It provides a space for students with different cultural backgrounds to share. It also provides a safe place to talk about race interactions in America. Students share and learn about other cultures through music, dance, food, etc.

Me to We Club
Me to We Club ls is a year-long service-learning program that nurtures compassion in students and gives them the tools to create transformative social change.
