Join third grade teacher Debra Cohn as we celebrate our favorite Eric Carle stories. Maybe someone can actually cheer up that old grouchy ladybug!

Water, Water, Everywhere

Water painting, watercolors, water balloons, water bubbles, watery ice, icy water, water experiments, water squirters, and water sputters are just a few of the ways campers will keep cool on a hot summer’s afternoon! Kindergarten Teacher Kay Orr will lead this H2O extravaganza in a week that is sure to be all sorts of drippy, messy fun!

 

Paint Like a Modern Artist

Let’s jump into art of the 20th century by learning about the artistic styles and lives of some of most famous painters and sculptors who defined Modern Art. From Piccaso to Pollock, we will explore and paint in the style of Cubists, Surrealists, and Abstract artists creating both 2-D and 3-D masterpieces! Come join Collegiate kindergarten teacher and art enthusiast, Heidi Blackburn, for an amazing week exploring Modern Art.

 

Card Game Fun

Come unplug and get your game on. Join teacher Stevie Trent for a week of fabulous games. From the classic card games like Go Fish, War, Rumm, and Knock to board games such as Apples to Apples, Clue and the fast-paced Monopoly Deal, everyone will have blast!

Elevate your photography and develop your artistic eye through this fun photo camp where we will explore composition, lighting and color to improve your photographs. Activities include a photo scavenger hunt and making photo collages of your work. Upper School Photography teacher Angela Shoemaker will lead you in a week of exploration, artistry and creativity. No camera needed, the school will provide iPads for all campers.

 

Sewing Fun and Fundamentals

Does your child love to make things? Have they wanted to learn to sew, or take their sewing skills to the next level? This week long, FULL DAY day camp, run by avid sewer Ms. Justus, is designed for both the beginning and veteran sewer. Campers will explore hand sewing techniques, as well as the ins and outs of safely using a sewing machine!* From cutting out patterns, to putting on the finishing touches, campers skills and confidence will grow as they create numerous fun projects to use, share and wear. Due to the unique needs of this camp space is limited, “sew” be sure to sign up early. *It is highly recommended that your camper bring a sewing machine from home to use for the week, but the instructor will also provides a few community machines for camper use.

Musical Mayhem

Join Sara MacLean, a talented composer who has produced several of her own recordings, for a week of music and fun. Using your imagination, you’ll sing and dance and bring out the musician in you. Explore and pretend with musical games and a variety of percussion instruments. Experiment and play with sounds and rhythm to create your own musical drama based on folktales from around the world. Round out the experience with art to accompany your original drama and free-dance. Parents and friends are invited to a final performance on Friday.

 

Introduction to Needlepoint

Mrs. Allen will keep you in stitches as she introduces you to plastic canvas needlepoint. We will start with a beginner project and learn how to follow a simple pattern. As soon as the beginner project is complete the campers will get to choose a holiday craft to stitch and take home. Needlepoint is wonderful for fine motor skills as well as mindfulness. Relax and stitch away!
