Summer Programs Week 4: June 22-26

Magical Creatures

Grades 2-4
Tori Sachtleben
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

We will explore creatures of myth and magic by sharing stories, looking at the cultures the stories arose from, and real life animal inspirations. At the end, we will create our own magical creatures. We will share pictures of our magical zoo with our Collegiate community through social media. Additional camp activities include crafts, reading lists, and other resources.

Basic craft supplies will be needed (i.e. paper, scissors, markers or crayons, tape or glue)


Beginning Drawing

Grades 5-8
Christina Clifford
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Learn basic drawing techniques, including how to draw objects, the face, animals, and use perspective. Build-up a toolbox of skills to enhance your own self-expression!

**Must register by: Saturday, June 13

**Materials Pick-up: Saturday, June 20, from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.


Math Review

Grades 4-5
Jill Beasley
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Join 4th-grade teacher, Mrs. Beasley, to brush up on your math skills this summer. This camp will include some direct instruction, practice, and math games!

Digital Art: The Inkscape Journey Onward

Grades 5 and up
Rich Mills
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

This camp picks up where we left off in “The Inkscape Beginning.” At the start of each class we will learn new tools and then end with some free time for each participant to make their own art. Also, as in the first class, on the last day we will offer the opportunity for everyone to share art they have created. Participants will need a computer with a mouse. Inkscape should be installed. Inkscape is a free, open-source program that works on Mac, Windows, and Linux.



Grades K-8 (parental supervision needed for younger students)

Join Collegiate’s Executive Chef in the virtual kitchen as she teaches you how to prepare a number of tasty dishes over Zoom! All ingredients will be provided to you via curbside pick-up at Collegiate. A Photo/Video Release and Allergen Disclosure form will be emailed to you to complete upon registering.
