On Sunday, March 3, the Indoor Track team qualified to compete in 28 events at the inaugural KHSAA 1A Indoor Track and Field State Championships. Within those 28 events, our Amazons and Titans set eight NEW SCHOOL RECORDS! At the end of the day, our Amazons placed 5th overall with 34 total points, and our Titans brought home the 4th place team trophy, scoring 57 points along the way.
We had four state champions, with Oliver Veliquette’s 24 winning the 60m hurdles and 400m dash, Roman Sierpina ’25 taking the 1500m, and James Gurley ’26 placing first in the 3000m. We also had three individual runner-ups: Gabbie Shulten ’24 in the High Jump, Riley Webb ’25 in the 400m, and Mary Thomas Kute ’27 in the 3000m. The Titan 4×400 relay team of James Marshall ’25, Roman Sierpina ’25, Julien Veliquette ’25, and Oliver Veliquette ’24 also placed second in the state!
