Summer Programs for students in grades 5-12 are designed to fill your days with traditional summer fun while making time for intentional academic enrichment, fine arts, and athletic activities.

This camp introduces players to the exciting world of lacrosse! Campers will learn the fundamentals—such as passing, shooting, ground balls, and teamwork—while also discovering the rich history and background of the game. This fun-filled program offers young golfers the chance to improve their skills, learn the fundamentals of the game, and enjoy the great outdoors. sports mental performance training camp

Join us for a three-day camp designed to help middle school athletes get a head start on developing the mental skills, habits, and mindset that lead to success—on and off the field. Led by JulieAnne Dietz, a former Division I scholarship athlete, Conference Player of the Year, and Hall of Fame inductee with over 20 years of experience as a counselor, mental performance trainer, and college recruiting consultant, this camp blends athletic insight with proven mental performance training.
Through hands-on sessions, fun challenges, and interactive activities designed just for middle schoolers, athletes will build core skills like confidence, focus, resilience, communication, and building habits—while discovering the joy and love of sport. Are you ready to unleash your creativity? Our Sewing Skills Class is perfect for 5th- to 8th-graders who want to dive into the exciting world of sewing! Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this class will help you learn essential techniques while making awesome projects. What You’ll Learn: Basic Sewing Techniques: Get hands-on experience with threading, knotting, and using a sewing machine. Fun Projects: Create cool items like tote bags, pillowcases, or simple clothing—perfect for gifts or personal use!
Fabric Choices: Explore different types of fabrics and learn how to select the right one for your projects.

The Quick Recall camp is a three-day program emphasizing daily content, area-specific material and retention of information, while improving question-answering skills. It’s run by Mark Amick, who has 20 years of quick recall coaching experience at the upper school level, as well as coaching multiple city elementary/middle teams to CSAL championships, and a team to Quarterfinals of middle school Governor’s Cup. All Governor’s Cup content areas will be covered. Materials will be distributed daily via Dropbox and/or in physical form. Multiple online study devices are utilized to create a fun learning environment. There are daily buzzer scrimmages, separated by age and ability, with a whole-camp tournament on the last day.
*Please note that the end time of this camp is 4:30 p.m. If you have a younger student participating in the day camp that ends at 3:30 p.m., you can either pick them up at 3:30 p.m. or sign them up for After Care.

Led by Tyler Gibson’s Training Ground staff, this camp focuses on developing strong technical skills, smart decision-making, and a love for the game. Through engaging drills, small-sided games, and individualized instruction, players will build confidence, improve their touch, and sharpen their understanding of the sport, all in a fun and challenging environment.

This will be a week-long, half-day workshop to teach and guide students in strengthening and delivering more impactful musical theatre auditions, looking at both songs and monologues. The week will culminate in a showcase of their final pieces.

Come and learn about the American judicial system and the work of attorneys by actively handling a case from State Finals Coach, Upper School Faculty member, and attorney Derrick Staton. Play the roles of attorneys and witnesses, work in teams to study the case and examine legal issues, and prepare strategies and arguments for trial. On the final day, participate in a full mock trial. You will also learn about the law school process and various areas of legal practice.

Join us for a one-week camp designed to help high school athletes make the most of their summer and elevate their game—on and off the field. Athletes begin with an individual mental performance analysis and develop a personalized training plan using our Whole Athlete Training System. Through hands-on sessions, challenges, and guided reflection, participants will strengthen key skills such as confidence, focus, resilience, and communication — creating intentional mental performance habits, building both mental fitness and enhancing their joy in sport.

geocaching & orienteering
Grades 5-8
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Did you know there are mini scavenger hunts all around the world? People hide “caches” sometimes containing treats and trinkets and a log, some just a log. When you find a cache, you sign the log and trade items if desired. We will drive to different parks and other areas with caches and see how many we can find! One day, we will go to Tom Sawyer Park, where there is an orienteering course. This involves using a terrain map to find a series of landmarks in order. Feel free to bring small toys and trinkets to trade in the caches. No food.

In this camp, students will tackle a series of exciting hands-on experiments that challenge them to ask questions, make predictions, and test their ideas. mountain biking in cherokee park
Grades 6-8

Middle School science teacher, Eagle Scout, and avid outdoorsman, Jon Coole will lead you on a biking exploration of Cherokee Park trails (or, as some have called it, the Church of Sticks and Stones). After working up a hearty appetite and thirst, mountain bikers will find a few yummy stops on Bardstown Road. Mr. Coole will also lead a mechanical tour of the gears, chains, and other moving parts of your amazing two-wheeled transportation. Each participant is required to have a bike that can navigate the trails and a helmet to protect them should the adventure take the rider off course.

advanced lego robotics

In this advanced camp, students who already have experience with LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology will take their skills and understanding to the next level. We will use the newest generation of Lego® robotics equipment (Spike! Prime) to build on the skills already developed in many introductory courses. Students will work in pairs to design, build, test and program robots using math and science concepts. The sky’s the limit as we will be able to dig deeper than they have in the past. Through this experience they will learn critical thinking and team-building skills. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and the skills they learn will last a lifetime.

intro to middle school
Grade 5

Are you about to start fifth grade? Are you feeling the first-day jitters already? Are you concerned the summer months have caused you to forget everything you’ve ever learned? No worries. Join fifth-grade English teacher Mrs. Holtzman-Rich and fifth-grade Math teacher Mrs. Patross to get ready to dive into Middle School. In addition to getting to know amazing teachers, campers will spend the week on the fifth-grade wing in the fifth-grade classrooms and experience what a typical fifth-grade day feels like. After a week of games, interactive lessons, movement, and fun, campers will feel more than ready to be an official fifth grader at the start of the school year.
Get ready for 6th grade
Grade 6

Ease into the school year and get a chance to learn the “lay of the land” before the first day of school. Sixth Grade Math Teacher and Sixth Grade Team Leader Sarah Bowling will lead you in various activities to warm up your “school brains.” We will spend plenty of time getting to know the school building and how to get to all of your classes while learning fun facts about your Sixth Grade teachers. We will also practice setting goals and getting ready for a productive school year. This camp provides a great chance to spend time with some of your classmates and, hopefully, get to know some new friendly faces! Whether you are new to Collegiate this year or you are a “lifer,” this camp will help get you ready for the start of Sixth Grade at Collegiate.

Bright students often do not reach their potential if they struggle with time management, study skills, or persevering on difficult assignments. Join the college counseling team for a productive week of writing. During the camp we will review sample college essays and students will brainstorm, draft, and edit their own college personal statements. We will be joined by college admission staff so students have the opportunity to have their drafts read by an admission professional. Students will start their senior year with more confidence knowing that they have made significant progress on a very challenging piece of their college application process.
