School Counselors

Louisville Collegiate School Counselors serve many roles within our community. They are advocates for our students, provide resources for our faculty and parents, and are classroom educators, to name just a few.

Our school counselors are a resource for all of our students and families. In their work, they abide by and follow the ethical standards outlined by the American School Counselor Association. School counselors guide and implement character education and wellness programming in each division for grades JK-12. They advocate for all students’ mental health, well-being, and academic and social functioning. They offer direct counseling services as needed to support the entire school community and are resources for outside counseling referrals and crisis management. They play vital roles in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development through guidance, counseling, and advocacy. In addition, school counselors provide expertise and direction in integrating social-emotional learning practices and whole-child education principles at the school-wide and divisional levels, ensuring faculty are prepared to provide comprehensive education that supports students’ overall well-being and development.

School Counselors also provide educational opportunities for faculty to support their ability to work with students in crisis. Training includes QPR – Suicide Prevention and Youth Mental Health First Aid.
