Merit Scholarships
NINTH GRADE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Collegiate awards a limited number of Merit Scholarships each year to qualified ninth-grade candidates who demonstrate superior academic achievement, deep engagement in extracurricular life, and outstanding character and citizenship. In addition to a financial award of up to $6,000, the Merit Scholarship program includes a trip to an academic enrichment program and summer stipend awards. Other annual experiential opportunities are included through senior year.
Criteria
Recognition as a Collegiate Merit Scholar is a highly selective honor that recognizes outstanding students based on:
- Superior academic achievement
- Outstanding character
- The potential for making a significant contribution as a citizen of Collegiate and the global community

- Teacher Evaluation/Recommendation

How to Apply for a ninth-grade merit scholarship
Prospective Families
- Apply for Ninth Grade by December 18, 2024.
- Complete the Merit Scholar Application by January 8, 2025.
- Take the Merit Scholar Assessment: January 11 or 25, 8:30-10:30 a.m. (sign up through the Ninth-Grade Admission application portal).
Current Collegiate Eighth Grade Families
Application Deadline: January 8, 2025
- Complete the Merit Scholar Application.
- Request a teacher recommendation from a current 8th-grade academic teacher.
- Take the Merit Scholar Assessment: January 11 or 25, 8:30-10:30 a.m. (sign up through the Merit Scholars Application).
