Merit Scholarships
NINTH GRADE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Collegiate awards a limited number of Merit Scholarships each year to qualified ninth-grade candidates who demonstrate superior academic achievement, deep engagement in extracurricular life, and outstanding character and citizenship. In addition to a financial award of up to $6,000, the Merit Scholarship Program starts with a trip to Vanderbilt University and is followed by several experiential opportunities through senior year.
Criteria
Recognition as a Collegiate Merit Scholar is a highly selective honor that recognizes outstanding students based on:
- Superior academic achievement
- Outstanding character
- The potential for making a significant contribution as a citizen of Collegiate and the global community
The criteria used to determine the Collegiate Merit Scholarship include:

- Teacher Evaluation/Recommendation

How to Apply for a ninth-grade merit scholarship
Prospective Families
Application Deadline: December 15, 2023
- Apply for the Ninth Grade.
- Complete the Merit Scholar Application.
- Take the Merit Scholar Assessment: January 13 or 27, 8:30-10:30 a.m. (sign up through the Ninth-Grade Admission application portal).
Current Collegiate Eighth Grade Families
Application Deadline: January 9, 2024
- Complete the Merit Scholar Application.
- Request a teacher recommendation from a current 8th-grade academic teacher.
- Take the Merit Scholar Assessment: January 13 or 27, 8:30-10:30 a.m. by emailing the Admission Office at admission@louisvillecollegiate.org.
