Sandy Hook Promise: Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
The safety, well-being, and sense of belonging of every student are at the heart of all we do. As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a supportive and secure school environment, Collegiate is proud to partner with Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing violence and building cultures of connection and care within schools and communities.
Through this partnership, our students in grades 6-12 and staff will participate in evidence-based programs designed to foster empathy, inclusion, and proactive safety awareness. These programs, such as Start With Hello and Say Something, empower students to recognize warning signs of social isolation, bullying, and potential threats—and to take action by reaching out to trusted adults or including others who may feel left out.
Say Something helps school administrators and law enforcement create effective interventions to help prevent violence, suicide, bullying, self-harm, and other forms of threatening behavior.
Key features of the program:
- Recognize At-Risk Behaviors: Participants will learn how to identify signs of distress or harmful behaviors in their peers.
- Take Action: The program emphasizes the importance of acting immediately by either talking to a trusted adult or reporting concerns anonymously through the system.
- 24/7 Support: Students can access a Crisis Center at any time via a mobile app, website, or hotline for confidential reporting.
- Ongoing Awareness: We will promote safety through student clubs, in-school activities, and special awareness weeks designed to keep these conversations alive.
