Robotic Teams Win First and Second Place at Middle School Tournament

On Saturday, Collegiate hosted the Middle School Regional Robotics FLL Tournament. We are proud of all three of our teams who had a good showing at the tournament. Congratulations to The Gibbon Gang and The Rare S.T.E.A.K.S. for advancing to the State Championship. A special congrats to Warren Erath for winning the Coach/Mentor Award, which goes to the coach whose leadership and guidance are clearly evident and best exemplify FIRST Core Values.

 

Vroom Vroom! (pictured above): C.S. Ho ’27, Wilson Masick ’27, Alen Smailhodzic ’27,  Hudson Swaminathan ’27, Amelia Cook ’28, Maverick Hamilton ’28, Bobby Lerner ’28, Jamie Hoban ’29, and Joseph Marshall ’29 finished fifth in the robot game. They are coached by Warren Erath and volunteer James Marshall, Sr. 

 

The Gibbon Gang (pictured above): Doran Rizzo ’29, Matt Yan ’29, Lucas Yan ’29, Eliot Swaminathan ’30, Elizabeth Dietz ’30, Guthrie Rowland ’30, and Jack Yates ’30 finished third in the robot game, won second place Champions Award. They are coached by volunteers Faina Kaplan and David Kaplan ’23. 

 

The Rare S.T.E.A.K.S. (pictured above): Brandon Coole ’28, Matthew Dietz ’28, Will Gahan ’28, Henry Green ’28, Nessa Kaplan ’28, Sophia Lee ’28, Pierson Rooprai ’28, and Mustafa Sattaur ’28 finished first in the robot game, won the first place Champions Award, and advanced to the State Championship tournament!  They are coached by Jon Coole and volunteer Paul Rooprai.
