Camp JK

Junior Kindergarten

Get your first taste of Junior Kindergarten before the first day of school! Camp JK is designed to mimic a modified school day. There will be center time, snack time, playground time, and different activities every day! A surprise theme day each week will truly delight your campers. Oh-and bring a change of clothes and a towel on Fridays for WATER PLAY!

 

 

Theatre Camp!

Grades K-4

Spend two weeks with Erika Ritchey learning all about the Behind-the-Scenes work of theatre! Help build sets, learn lines, decide on props, and all the other prep work that goes into play production. At the end of the two weeks, invite your friends and family to see the final performance!

 

 

Rock Climbing

Grades 1-4

Ring that bell! Exercise your brain and body with an entire week of rock climbing! This camp is for all experience levels and will focus on rock climbing strategies, skills, and safety. Practice rock climbing on our rock wall with 2nd Grade teacher Ms. Garofalo and then test your skills on Friday at Climb Nulu!

 

 

Running Club

Grades 2-4

Students will get a glimpse into the sport of track. We will look to improve in areas of running form, sprinting, and distance races. Proper stretching will be emphasized each week to prepare for races and the cool-down period following a race.

 

 

Yoga, Mindfulness, & Crafts

I invite your children to join me as we practice mental and physical activities that can help us help reduce stress, strengthen attention and focus, and better resolve inevitable conflicts as they arise during these unprecedented times. While adhering to social distancing daily, we will share an opening circle activity, learn yoga, make a craft, practice mindful techniques, and connect to the natural world.

 

 

Star Wars

Grades 3-5

Join forces with the Rebellion and hone your skills as a Jedi Knight by immersing yourself in the magical and exciting Star Wars Universe. Aspiring younglings will be trained in the ways of the Jedi, fight the temptations of the Dark Side, and, if they are proven worthy, build their own lightsabers.

 

 

Girls Basketball Skills

Grades 5-8

This Girls Basketball Skills camp is designed for players who want to improve their game and have fun playing basketball. Come ready to focus, learn and get better! The camp is aimed at developing and improving your fundamentals and all-around basketball skills. Amazon Varsity Basketball Coach Joey Chatham will lead this camp along with some current varsity players.

 

 

Quick Recall

Sessions will include lessons to improve key Quick Recall knowledge in all the Governor’s Cup content areas, as well as coaching and strategy on the buzzers. We’ll end the week with a camp tournament.

 

 

Folktales & Mythical Creatures

Grades 3-4

Explore the magical world of folktales! We will explore fairytales, myths, legends, and more. We will read, make art, and write our very own folktale. From dragons and minotaurs to fairy godmothers and trolls, we will travel the world in stories and creatures.

Disney & Drawing

Time for your student to relax after working so hard this school year! We will watch Disney movies and unwind with some relaxing coloring. We will break up our day with a snack and playtime and enjoy socializing with friends.

 

 

P.E. and Music Games!

Nobody move! The floor. Is. LAVA. Spend the week with Mrs. Lawrence in the gym playing fun games! From freeze dance to knock out and everything in between, get your boogie on and get that energy OUT. Stay active, socialize with friends, and maybe even learn a new skill this summer in P.E. and Music Games!

 

 

Soccer Skills @ Champions Trace

Grades 5-8

This camp will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of the offensive and defensive end of the game while in a fun and creative environment. This camp is designed for all levels and focuses on skill development and player endurance. Please bring a water bottle, shin guards, and soccer cleats; dress appropriately for the weather outside. Assistant Director of Summer Programs, Amy Kilgore, will be on-site at Champions Trace with Coach Rick and Coach Joey for the duration of the camp. Drop-off and pick-up will be at Champions Trace; transportation will not be provided by the school.

 

 

Chess Camp

Join Mr. Todd Payne in a camp all about chess! If you’ve never played before, have been playing for years, or just learned a few months ago-all are welcome! Chess for All will meet players at their level and help them learn and continue to work on developing strategies. You won’t be bored with a chessboard on your table!

What could be more fun than spending a week making and flying paper airplanes? We will learn the four forces of flight and how to bend them to our will as we fold our paper. We will experiment with different airplane designs and try to understand why they worked or didn’t. Every day kids will take home their airplanes.

 

Puppets and Puppets!

Mrs. Rocio Lalama, one of our fantastic JK teachers, will run Puppets and Puppets! An interactive camp for rising JK and K students. Campers will be immersed in story after story through the craft of puppet theatre, and they will design and take home a puppet each day.
