Collegiate Merit Scholars traveled south to attend Weekend at Vanderbilt University (WAVU) this past weekend. WAVU is an “all-day immersive academic, career-focused experience designed for academically motivated 7th-12th grade students.” This is the first year students have been able to attend since COVID. Students participated in WAVU courses taught by Vanderbilt professors and students and students from around the country. They also toured Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, and Fisk University.
In addition to a financial award of up to $6,000, the Merit Scholarship Program starts with this trip to Vanderbilt University and is followed by several experiential opportunities through senior year.
